It’s International Happiness Day 2020!
In 2020, International Happiness Day comes at an uprecented time. Indeed, an invisible virus is imposing social distancing on billions of people, how to speak about happiness in such circumstances? Precisely! More than ever, it is important to have keys to go and grab some happiness.
Happiness, No Matter What!
I have been offering workshops on the topic of “Cultivating Your Happiness, No Matter What!” for several years. Most noteworthy, when the Paris Attacks took place, I already had to question my positioning. But I refuse to back down. What does it even mean to cultivate happiness when everything is going well? When does that happen anyway? It is precisely when things are tough that it is important to go grab some happiness for ourselves.
International Happiness Day
For International Happiness Day 2020, I would like to give you a strong message! There are indeed things that we cannot control, that we cannot shape the way we would like but that does not make us powerless victims! So in the video below, I give you 3 keys or practices to go grab a bit more peace or happiness for yourself.
In case you think I am crazy to talk about happiness in current circumstances, let me just say that I have a very pragmatic view on happiness. For me it is our personal mix of peace, having a feeling of inner calm, meaning, or being in agreement with our values, and joy, having access to smiling and laughing. When one aspect is harder to get, we can cultivate one of the others. That’s the spirit in which I did the Facebook live that I include below.
Your “No Matter What”
I don’t for a second discount the validity of your struggles in these or for that matter in any circumstances. This is precisely the work I do, to help you see that you can Experience Your TRUE Happiness if you look in the right places.
Sometimes this journey starts with feeling what we feel. In these troubled times we may need to feel sadness, fear, anger and even grief on our way to our happiness.

So the first key is taken from my workshop “Cultivating your happiness, what’s that?” It is to understand the determinants of the variance of happiness. There are three things that make up the differences in happiness between people. Discover or review them below.
Next, the second key is taken from my workshop “Cultivating your happiness when things go wrong.” This key is self-compassion. In the video, I go through the elements of self-compassion and I also guide you through a Loving Kindness or Metta Meditation.
And finally the third key is taken from the workshops “3 practices to keep cool.” In the video I guide you through a breathing exercise that will take your stress down a notch immediately.
