How to Reconcile Happiness and Pandemic Fatigue

Happiness and Mindset, why is that so important? So we’ve been talking about pandemic-fatigue, how it can impact your happiness and ways to deal with that. Last week we talked about the impact on your relationships, I hope becoming aware of that allowed you to take steps to make things better.

This week we’re going to talk about how your mindset can impact your pandemic-fatigue so roll up your sleeves!

I hope you still have your notebook from last week. Otherwise find something you can take notes on.

To get started on your mindset introspection, start by writing down a breakthrough you’ve had these past weeks regarding your pandemic-fatigue, its causes and its effects.

What’s your inner dialog like?

What you say to yourself about your exhaustion may very well be compounding your exhaustion, have you ever thought of that? I have a therapy client who does that a lot, she observes her inner dialogue and then has an inner dialogue about that. Through our work, she is learning to catch herself and begin to change that happiness-busting habit.

Inner dialogue is a really widespread phenomenon. And for you, what is your inner dialogue like? For real! Write something down in your notebook about that.

Happiness and Mindset may require some change.

For something to change, something else has to change first. There is no way out of that. That is the biggest issue I surface with my clients is that they want things to change without having to do anything about it.

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein.

 

So if you suffer from pandemic-fatigue and you don’t like that, you will have to do something about it. I’ve been giving tips about that for the past 3 weeks, so maybe you have found something that helps you?

I would love it if you would write in your notebook what you have tried and what impact it has had, and if you haven’t tried anything, than owning up to that might be a great first step for you.
