How to Reconcile Happiness and Pandemic Fatigue : Emotional and Inner Aspects

How to Reconcile Happiness and Pandemic Fatigue

*** Emotional and Inner Aspects ***

Pandemic Fatigue is all over right now. Are you exhausted, feeling discouraged, a bit depressed? You don’t have the energy that you would like to have. I’ve been there! After taking care of my parents at the end of their lives, I had a grief period of several months with a real backlash. Sadness and lack of energy for months. And then, I had some health issues that concerned me, and left me pretty exhausted too.

Pandemic Fatigue: it’s a Widespread Issue!

I also see lots of my clients and also people around me who are getting really fatigued by the whole pandemic situation. So this week I invite you to go into the inner aspects of exhaustion and their link to Your TRUE Happiness. I suggest you grab a notebook to take notes as you read.

How to Reconcile Happiness and Pandemic Fatigue: On the Inside

If you are feeling exhausted, you may need to review your priorities. Whether you have too much going in on or too little, being clear on what is important to you in your life will help you make adjustments.

What to do with Pandemic Fatigue? Do you know?
Is it your work? Or your family? Maybe your spirituality? Your exercise? An activity you love? Priorities can be different for different people. Your happiness may be at stake here!

So for YOU, what is one of your top priorities in life?

The Harvard Study of Adult Development

“Happiness is Love. Full Stop.” This is the conclusion drawn by the first director of the famous study that’s been ongoing at Harvard for more than 75 years. Yes, 75 years of studying Adult Development, people’s habits, their health, their happiness.

"Happiness is Love. Full Stop." George Vaillant

The conclusion of the study is that healthy relationships are the biggest determinants not just of happiness but also of health and longevity.

So today, I invite you to take a good look at your social life and your relationships. Next, pick someone to call and connect with. Then do it.

But Obstacles are inevitable!

Ain’t that the truth? Raise your hand if you’ve never been knocked down and look around, there are no hands raised. It’s part of being human and there’s no two ways about that.

"Getting knocked down in life is a given. Getting up and moving forward is a choice." Zig Ziglar.

This is one of the biggest issues I help my clients with, to not be so indignant when something happens that they don’t like. So that’s part 1.

Part 2 is getting up and moving forward again.

The science of motivation gives us answers for that but all build on healthy habits. So today what I want you to do is to take a good look at your diet and your hydration. How much processed food do you consume? How much sweetened liquid do you drink? Those kinds of questions.

Decide on one thing you will change about that starting today to have more energy. I know, change is hard but do you want things to change or not?

I’d love to know something you changed or plan to change to help you to Reconcile Your TRUE Happiness with Pandemic Fatigue so please  let me know.

That’s it for today but I’ll be back next week for the vast topic of How to Reconcile Happiness and Pandemic Fatigue. We will broach the subject from a different angle.

I wish you a great rest of your day!
